ISO10006 / ISO 10007
Projects of course arise in many guises... with different sizes, complexity and duration. The creation of a standard that is widely applicable was therefore a considerable undertaking.
What Is ISO 10006?
ISO 10006 essentially comprises guidelines to help ensure the quality of project processes and the project products. It was originally developed from the PMI PMBOK Guide. Its sister standard, ISO 10007 provides guidelines to help ensure that a complex product continues to function when individual components are changed.
It is important to understand, however, that ISO 10006 is not a guide to project management itself (ditto ISO 10007).
BSI have published a range of additional standards to assist in the field of Project Management. These include a guide to project management (BS6079-1), a project management vocabulary (BS6079-2) and a guide to the management of business related project risk (BS6079-3).
WHERE TO OBTAIN THE STANDARDS
All these standards can be obtained as part of the Project Management Electronic Book:
This Project Management Standards Kit is supplied on CD and as such includes comprehensive search failities and of course 'cut and paste' capability.
The purchase cost includes worldwide delivery via UPS direct from BSI headquarters. It can be ordered from the Project Management Electronic Book information page for a cost of USD 369 / UKP 210.
